Tasked with increasing page likes by 12.5% and improving brand perception, we got to work on a campaign that would do exactly that. Our solution was to run a competition that gave Queenslanders the chance to earn a “bill break”, encouraging customers to share their energy-saving tips and like the Ergon Retail Facebook page. As an incentive, these customers had the chance to have their quarterly bill paid... by a bumbling-yet-loveable superhero.
Enter “Barry the Bill Buster”. While he wasn’t blessed with the slickest superhero moves, he was given a heart of gold – and became a fast favourite with Ergon Energy Retail’s Facebook audience. Not only did the campaign drive positive engagement and create a sense of community, it surpassed its Page Likes goal five times over.
